Bug List

What "bugs" me? 

1.  It bugs me when the ice in my coffee melts throughout the day and waters down my drink. 
1. There aren't any coffee ice cubes on the market. (yet) 
2. It bugs me when my cutting boards have an indented outer edge along the perimeter and food gets stuck in it. 
1. I can't think of one reason this exists other than to bug everyone. 
3. It bugs me when people don't use their turn signals in their car. 
1. Maybe they forget or maybe they want to purposefully be dangerous? Turn signals are not automatic in cars, the driver must remember to put them on before turning. I think they should be automatic as soon as the wheel starts to tilt/turn. 
4. It bugs me when you have a bottle with a pump and it's impossible to get everything out of it. 
1. Pumps are convenient in a lot of ways, you don't have to fuss with a cap, but I want to use all the product. 
5. It bugs me when I can't see how much left I have of a product. 
1. This shouldn't happen, this is just bad packaging in my opinion. It would be so easy to place a see-through thin strip on the side of any bottle to see how much product was left. 
6. It bugs me when necklaces only have one hole to clasp it together and I can't change the length of it. 
1. I would assume "nicer" jewelry to only have one hole so there isn't excess chain hanging down the back of your neck, but that is only because that is the pattern I've noticed with my own jewelry.  
7. It bugs me when I buy bags of chips and half of my money is being spent on air. 
1. This one is just rude, I'm assuming they do this for money purposes. 
8. It bugs me when scooters don't stop at stop signs. 
1. I think this might happen because braking on a scooter is a little hard (I've heard) and that coming to a complete stop is harder on a scooter than in a car, but seriously you're going to get hit. :/ 
9. It bugs me when jeans are too short. 
1. Clothing brands only make one length of jean, when in reality everyone isn't going to be the same height, and cropped jeans are in-style, but not when they're cropped just below my knee. (: 
10. It bugs me when my phone freezes and I have to turn it off to reboot it. 
1. I have no idea why it does this, I wish I knew so I could avoid it, but maybe it's inevitable based on how much I use my phone. 
11. It bugs me when I get a blister after writing with a pencil for too long. 
1. The side of the pencil is rubbing against my skin and I grip the pencil really tight when I start writing for too long. 
12. It bugs me when shoes don't come in half-sizes. 
1. I don't know why this still happens because other shoes come in half-sizes so why don't all of them? Maybe it's because it costs more money for the companies to make half-sizes? 
13. It bugs me when I have to steam clothes, I can never do it on my own. 
1. I have to steam it if I want to look "nice" or "professional" but it's hard to do on your own and get it to be perfect.  
14. It bugs me when my clothes slip off the hanger. I even have the nonslip kind and they still fall. 
1. Some clothes have a slick fabric (satin, leather), making them susceptible to slippage. 
15. It bugs me when I go into the Reitz Union in the middle of the day and the line in the bookstore is ridiculously long. 
1. This is probably because in the middle of the day is usually lunch for most people so they have some time off to run their errands and I guess everyone's errands are at the Reitz Union. 
16. It bugs me when I kill my plants. 
1. They don't come with instructions.
17. It bugs me when I have to mop. 
1. No one has made an I-MOP Robot yet. 
18. It bugs me when I can't find things I just saw.
1. My eyes see things but I can't re-see things unless my brain recalls them, but sometimes I wish my sight was recorded so I could go back and replay and find all my lost stuff.
19. It bugs me when I have to buy $85 calculators each year because no math teacher requires the same calculator. 
1. There isn't a universal calculator where features can be turned on and off. 
20. It bugs me when my fingers and hands start to cramp up after typing and hitting the backspace button so many times. 
1. Computers and hand massagers sold separately. 

Writing this list was actually really fun. I spent time looking around my room and my apartment and finding things and items that bug me on an everyday basis. I also spent time thinking about what I do on an everyday basis and the ways I could improve my everyday life and save my self time and money and maybe some stress too. It was interesting coming up with things but it was even more interesting to come up with the reasons why the "bug" exists, because sometimes I was stumped. It took me some time to think of 20 things that really bugged me, but once I got in the swing of things, they kind of just started to flow and it got easier as I did more.
