Solving the Problem

The selected opportunity I have found in the past exercises has been the unmet need of coffee ice cubes. I saw that in almost all coffee shops and all grocery stores, there are no options for how you prefer to keep your iced coffee cool. Either you accept the ice, or you get no ice and warm iced coffee. The product I would like to implement would be coffee ice cubes. They could be the same as iced coffee, where there are different roasting styles: dark, medium, light. There could also be espresso shot ice cubes or coffee and cream ice cubes. The opportunity was there because I realized that my coffee was being flooded with water from the melting ice cubes before I even got to finish my full cup of coffee. I was wasting money on coffee because I didn't want to finish the part that had become gross.

  1. Hi Nicole, as I've mentioned before I love this idea. I used to do the same thing with soft drinks (I'd put coke into ice cube makers to have with my coke. I believe for ice coffee drinkers that this would be great to ensure flavour and strength is not diluted.

  2. Hello Nicole, this is a great idea and would benefit many people who want to adopt this in more of the beverages they drink. I am not a fan of watered down drinks which is the main reason I like to get light ice in my drinks. Businesses could draw more customers in purchasing these "ice cubes" but would need to keep them cheap unless they up the charge for using this cubes.

  3. Hello Nicole!
I think creating a business for coffee ice cubes is such a great idea and I wish you the best of luck! I love the idea of different roasting styles in the coffee ice cubes and the idea of putting creamer or espresso shots. The espresso shots have me sold! Nothing is worse than watery coffee.

You should check out my blog post I wrote about advertising your company on Instagram! People are much more willing to buy the product when they know the owner. It is a great way to expand your business especially at no cost! https://lindseyrykard.blogspot.com/2019/09/solving-problem.html

  4. Hey Nicole, after reading this my mouth dropped! Brad's comment about doing the same thing with coke is brilliant to me! I can't believe I have never thought of something so simple but that has such a large effect. I would be interested to see if there are any complications with freezing roasting coffee into the cubes you've described! I plan on trying this with lemon juice then dropping the cubes into a glass of water. Great read!
